Beautiful cottage, very clean and comfortable. Easy access to the A39 that leads to all the best scenery. Managed to visit a friend in Cornwall as well. Met Ray, Tricia and Phoebe and lots of wildlife which our dog Flora loved. Would be happy to come back.

As we come to the end of a fabulous week at Woodpecker Cottage, just to say thanks to Trisha and Ray for their hospitality and arranging the weather. What a beautiful part of Devon this is.

Lovely cottage, we had a lovely time. Too much rain but after all it is February.

Had a lovely stay in this superb cottage in a peaceful quiet location. Hopefully we will return next year.

Here we are again! Just as wonderful as last year, and the weather behaved!! Visited all our usually haunts and checked out new ones! I feel sure we will also be back for 3rd stay. Nowhere better xx

A lovely comfy cottage well placed for touring and visiting lots of places. The weather has been glorious would definitely recommend to friends and family x

Thank you for a lovely stay, we have all had a relaxing time here at Woodpecker Cottage. Trisha & Ray have both been very warm and welcoming. Thank you for the tip about Hartland Quay (a very hairy drive down some very narrow lanes) but very well worth it – stunning views – very dramatic coastline. The children enjoyed dipping their toes in very cold water!!! Awe inspiring views from the coastal paths. Northam Burrows was also a lovely day out with a much flatter coastline and plenty of places to get ice cream. The Milky Way was fun for the children but a little tatty around the edges!!! Woodpecker Cottage, a true gem, a home from home. Thank you for allowing us to stay for a lovely time and thank you for the eggs! A treat.

Woodpecker Cottage is by far the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed at. Such a peaceful and beautiful setting. The cottage is tastefully decorated, clean and had everything we needed for a week’s stay.

We took a walk through the wood at the back of the property which was full of bluebells, wild primroses and bird song (May time). This took us down to the sea at Bucks Mill and then we walked back-up the steep hill (along the road). This is not for the faint-hearted (2 ½ hours with a few stops).

Hartland Quay, Hartland Abbey, Northam Burrows, Bideford, Bude and Docton Mill Gardens were all interseting places to visit.

Thank you for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean. Enjoyed a proper fire Friday evening. Great location for exploring, had a lovely rest. We would like to come again.

Woodpecker Cottage is a home from home, a lovely cottage in a delightful setting. A great base to discover all that North Devon has to offer. A big thank you to Trisha and Ray for your hospitality and for the loan of the walking stick. Jarvis has certainly enjoyed exploring the grounds. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. Many thanks.

Another excellent week in this lovely cottage. A truly relaxing time. Many thanks.

We had the most wonderful stay at “Woodpecker Cottage” – Trisha and Ray (& Phoebe) were most warm, welcoming and provided us with some helpful local knowledge. The cottage itself is fantastic – immaculately clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished. The circular walk from the cottage down to Bucks Mill and back was great to do on our first afternoon after spending hours in the car. The cottage is perfectly located for exploring both Devon and North Cornwall and our adventures included trips to – Appledore, Exmoor, Woolacombe, Clovelly, Hartland Quay, Westward Ho!, Port Isaac, Boscastle and Bude. We downloaded circular walking routes in advance (which always including a stop for lunch at the halfway point!). The little villages and coastal views were stunning, especially as we were so lucky to have great weather too! Woolacombe, Westward Ho! And Bude are what you’d expect of a typical English seaside town but it all depends on what you like. Clovelly was stunning – yes it was steep, yes it was busy but as you’d expect on a hot bank holiday. Most of the beaches are dog friendly (or at least parts of them are) but they are big enough so you can still escape the crowds. We also enjoyed a nice meal at The Bell Inn, Parkham – it was busy with locals as it was Jubilee weekend but everyone was very friendly and the food was nice. If you’re looking for a beautiful place to stay, in a beautiful location to explore beautiful villages and scenery they you will not be disappointed. I would (already have) recommend Woodpecker cottage. Thank you Trisha and Ray, we didn’t want to leave.

A lovely stylish home in North Devon, so peaceful and restful especially as the sun shone for us all week. No need for a lot of catering with Hoops Inn just down the road. Beautiful food and friendly staff. Thank you Ray and Trisha for being welcoming hosts and Phoebe for befriending Lola.

This is our second stay in this beautiful bungalow. We love how comfortable and spacious it is. Such a great location for a peaceful week but also well-placed for exploring North Devon and beyond. Woolacombe is one of our favourite places to visit.

Perfect holiday – lovely cottage, hosts, weather and glorious Devon.

The weather was not as good as it should of been but the lovely cottage made up for it and some. “GREAT WILL RECOMMEND”.

What a gem of a cottage, everything you could possibly need, near all to explore, Clovelly, Bude, Woolacombe, to name a few. We had fab weather and didn’t want to leave. Hoops Inn is fab & dog friendly & also The Farmers Inn in Woolsery. Would definitely return. Thanks to Trish & Ray.

Amazing holiday home! Helped us explore the near by beaches and villages, is a beautiful area. Thank you for letting us stay 🙂

We enjoyed our stay in your beautiful cottage, visited lots of places, the weather was not the best so it was nice to have a lovely place to come back to. We were made very welcome, thank you.

Great to get away and a lovely place to stay. A very cosy cottage. The Bell at Parkham is a great place to eat.

Thank you Trisha and Ray, we love your delightful cottage. It’s all been fitted out to a lovely standard. It’s a real thrill to find such a gem. The local area is of course beautiful. It was especially convenient to meet our friends at Park Dean Resort (although I think they were a bit jealous!) We would love to come back again one day and see more of the area.

Thank you!

P.S. The only addition that would have been very welcome in the heatwave would have been a couple of fans.
